On September 12th, Bloomingdale’s and Capital Artist Collective joined together to host Art + Fashion: A Collaboration to Benefit #CrackCancer for The Willie Strong Foundation and Children’s National Medical Center.
Guests sipped and shopped while enjoying delicious bites, watching Artist Collective member, Lanie Mann, live paint, and previewing the new Fall “MixMaster” looks styled by Joy Kingsley-Ibeh of Kingsley Model & Talent. Model Ambassadors, many whom are supporters of Children’s Hospital and some whom are pediatric cancer survivors, walked, rocked and flipped!! down the runway accompanied by tunes spun by visual artist and DJ, Violetta Markelou . Bloomingdales generously hosted the event and is donating 10% of sales from September 12th shopping back to The Willie Strong Foundation to support their Pediatric Brain Cancer Research Professorship at CNMC.
Katharine Reishman, Capital Artist Collective, Director, conceived the idea as creative partnership for her artists and art of fashion. The Artist Collective was founded in 2010 as an online gallery with a mission to offer patrons affordable, original art while giving back to the community it services. Under its giving back business model, 5% of profits from The Artist Collective sales are given to non-profit organizations and during the months of September and October. The Capital Artist Collective will donate 5% of all art sales during month of September and October to Willie Strong Foundation and all artwork is available online or by appointment.
